    TO REDUCE COOKING TIME, THE PEAS MAY BE SOAKED OVERNIGHT. SERVES 8 TO 10


    List of Ingredients


    • One 16 oz.pkg. dry split peas
    • 1 ham bone or 1 cup ham pieces (I use both)
    • 3 qts of chicken, beef or vegetable broth
    • 1 cup finely chopped celery
    • 1 cup finely chopped onions
    • 2 chopped carrots
    • 1 Potatoe
    • 2 tablespoons lemon-pepper seasoning
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce


    Instructions


    1. Put all ingredients in a large pot.
    2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 3 hours.
    3. Remove ham bone and chop meat into small pieces.
    4. I puree about half the soup so you have a mixture of smooth and chunky.
