Split Pea Soup

TO REDUCE COOKING TIME, THE PEAS MAY BE SOAKED OVERNIGHT. SERVES 8 TO 10
List of Ingredients
- One 16 oz.pkg. dry split peas
- 1 ham bone or 1 cup ham pieces (I use both)
- 3 qts of chicken, beef or vegetable broth
- 1 cup finely chopped celery
- 1 cup finely chopped onions
- 2 chopped carrots
- 1 Potatoe
- 2 tablespoons lemon-pepper seasoning
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Put all ingredients in a large pot.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 3 hours.
- Remove ham bone and chop meat into small pieces.
- I puree about half the soup so you have a mixture of smooth and chunky.
