    These were a staple for Sunday Dinner at Mam-ma's


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup mashed potatoes
    • 1 cup Crisco
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 tablespoon salt
    • 3 cups flour
    • 1 package (a scant tablespoon) yeast
    • 3 cups lukewarm potato water
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder


    Instructions


    1. Put together in order given.
    2. Let set until it begins to get light, then work in enough flour so it can be kneaded.
    3. Pinch off what is needed and let rise, bake in 350 degree oven.
    4. Rolls can be "half baked": by baking for 6-8 minutes or until "platinum blonde".
    5. When desired, pop into a 450 degree oven for about 7 minutes.
