These were a staple for Sunday Dinner at Mam-ma's
List of Ingredients
- 1 cup mashed potatoes
- 1 cup Crisco
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 3 cups flour
- 1 package (a scant tablespoon) yeast
- 3 cups lukewarm potato water
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
- Put together in order given.
- Let set until it begins to get light, then work in enough flour so it can be kneaded.
- Pinch off what is needed and let rise, bake in 350 degree oven.
- Rolls can be "half baked": by baking for 6-8 minutes or until "platinum blonde".
- When desired, pop into a 450 degree oven for about 7 minutes.
