Recipe Introduction
This is a dish that goes great with steaks, or chops and fish.
List of Ingredients
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/4 inch slices
- 4 tablespoons butter or olive oil
- 4 medium tomatoes, peeled or not, sliced into 1/4 inch slices
- 4 medium onions, thinly sliced and separated into rings
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Layer bottom of greased casserole with half the potatoes, dot with butter or olive oil, salt and pepper.
- Cover with the onions and tomatoes.
- Put on second layer of potatoes, then dot well with butter and salt and pepper.
- Bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
Final Comments
I don't peel the tomatoes, and sometimes make more layers. This dish is also good the next day reheated.
