Source of Recipe
originally from Better Homes & Gardens, but they have changed it in their updated cookbook. Plus, I've made a few minor changes to it
Recipe Introduction
This pie is my "specialty", if I have one. LOL. It's is so yummy. Everytime I make it I'm surprised by how good it is. ;-). Both my family & DH's family love when I make it. ~ Submitted by Elizabeth (originalhottie)
List of Ingredients
1 Cup sugar
3/4 Cup butter (not margarine), softened
3 squares (3 ounces) unsweetened chocolate, melted & cooled (I usually use hersey's or nestle's cocoa. I find it easier. The directions on the side of the box of cocoa.)
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cups egg substitute (or enough to equal 3 eggs)
Baked pastry shell
Whipping cream
Chocolate curls (optional)Recipe
In bowl beat sugar & butter with an electric mixer on medium speed about 4 minutes or till fluffy. Stir in chocolate and vanilla. Add egg substitute 1/4 cup at a time, beating on high speed after each addition and scraping sides of bowl constantly. Transfer to baked pastry shell. Cover, chill for 5 to 24 hours or till set. Top with unsweetened whipped cream & chocolate curls.
