    List of Ingredients


    • 2 packages of dry yeast
    • 9 tablespoons sugar
    • 4 cups of warm water
    • 9 tablespoons oil or melted shortening
    • 3 eggs, beaten
    • 6 cups flour
    • 1 tablepoon salt
    • 6 more cups of flour


    Instructions


    1. Dissolve 2 packages of dry yeast and 9 tablespoons sugar in 4 cups warm water.
    2. Then add to yeast mixture: 9 tablespoons oil or melted shortening, 3 eggs, beaten, and 6 cups of flour. Beat well and let rise for about 30 minutes.
    3. Add 1 tablespoon salt and 6 more cups of flour to dough and beat well.
    4. Knead until dough is not sticky.
    5. Let rise again, until doubled.
    6. Punch down and divide into 3 large loaves or 4 smaller loaves. Make sure pans are greased.
    7. Bake at 350* for about 30 to 35 minutes until browned.
    8. Brush butter over the tops of the loaves after baking.
