List of Ingredients
- 2 packages of dry yeast
- 9 tablespoons sugar
- 4 cups of warm water
- 9 tablespoons oil or melted shortening
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 6 cups flour
- 1 tablepoon salt
- 6 more cups of flour
Instructions
- Dissolve 2 packages of dry yeast and 9 tablespoons sugar in 4 cups warm water.
- Then add to yeast mixture: 9 tablespoons oil or melted shortening, 3 eggs, beaten, and 6 cups of flour. Beat well and let rise for about 30 minutes.
- Add 1 tablespoon salt and 6 more cups of flour to dough and beat well.
- Knead until dough is not sticky.
- Let rise again, until doubled.
- Punch down and divide into 3 large loaves or 4 smaller loaves. Make sure pans are greased.
- Bake at 350* for about 30 to 35 minutes until browned.
- Brush butter over the tops of the loaves after baking.
