    Easy Ham and Cheese Strata

    This is a great recipe for a brunch. My daughter says it is "awesome".


    List of Ingredients


    • 16 slices white bread, without crusts and cubed
    • 1 pound ham, cut into cubes
    • 1 pound sharp cheddar cheese, grated
    • 1 1/2 cups Swiss cheese, grated
    • 6 eggs
    • 3 cups milk
    • 4 green onions, chopped, (opt.)
    • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
    • 3 cups cornflakes, crushed
    • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted


    Instructions


    1. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Spread half the bread cubes in dish. Add the ham and both cheeses. Cover with remaining bread cubes.
    2. Mix eggs, milk, onions and mustard. Pour evenly over the bread cubes and regrigerate overnight.
    3. Combine cornflakes and butter. Top casserole with the mixture and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
    4. Serves 8 to 10.
