Crawfish Boil
This is the corect way to boil crawfish, or crabs. This recipe is for about 8 or 9 people. We use 5lb of crawfish per person to figure out how much you need. We use 2dz per person for crabs. So one hamper of crabs, 14dz, for about 7 people.
List of Ingredients
- 1 sack of crawfish - 40 to 45lb.
- 1 large container of seasoning - 96oz cajunland is best.
- 1 box of six crab boil seasonings bags
- 1 bottle crab boil
- 1 large bag onions
- 1 bag of lemons
- 10 very large bunches of garlic
- 1 sack of small red potatoes
- 24 small frozen corn on the cob
- 2 boxes of salt
- 1 bag ice
Instructions
- You will need a 100qt pot to cook all the crawfish at once. Fill with water over half the pot. Start cleaning crawfish. You should clean and rinse a min of three times. Depening on where the crawfish come from three should be enough.
- Cut onions and garlic in half and put in water. Cut lemons in half and squeeze in water and put in water. Put potatoes in water, do not cut them. Put all seasoning in water including liquid crab boil. Only put 1 1/2 box of salt in water. Wait for boil.
- When water comes to a roiling boil put corn and crawfish in the pot.
- When it comes back to a boil wait 10 min and turn off fire. Put in bag of ice to kill the boil. This will also help the crawfish soak up more seasoning. You should also spay the pot with water to cool it off also. Let sit in pot 40 min.
- Drain well.
- Pour on large table and eat.
