Banana Bread

Recipe Introduction
This is a really good banana bread. To get the best flavor, it's best to wait until the bananas are very dark but not spoiled.
List of Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup margarine or butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1½ cups mashed ripe bananas (3-4 medium)
- 1/3 cup water
- 1-2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ cup chopped nuts
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Grease bottom only of loaf pan...8" or 9"
- Mix sugar and margarine in 2½ quart bowl.
- Stir in eggs until blended.
- Add bananas and water, beat 30 seconds.
- Stir in remaining ingredients except nuts just until moistened; stir in nuts.
- Pour into pan.
- Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. 8" = 1¼ hours 9" = 55-60 minutes.
- Cool 5 minutes.
- Loosen sides of loaf from pan and remove; cool completely before slicing.
Final Comments
We love to spread slices with cream cheese.....it's so good this way!
