    Banana Bread

    Source of Recipe

    I don't remember.....had this one a long time!

    Recipe Introduction

This is a really good banana bread. To get the best flavor, it's best to wait until the bananas are very dark but not spoiled.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1/3 cup margarine or butter, softened
    • 2 eggs
    • 1½ cups mashed ripe bananas (3-4 medium)
    • 1/3 cup water
    • 1-2/3 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
    • ½ cup chopped nuts

    Instructions

    1. Heat oven to 350°.
    2. Grease bottom only of loaf pan...8" or 9"
    3. Mix sugar and margarine in 2½ quart bowl.
    4. Stir in eggs until blended.
    5. Add bananas and water, beat 30 seconds.
    6. Stir in remaining ingredients except nuts just until moistened; stir in nuts.
    7. Pour into pan.
    8. Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. 8" = 1¼ hours 9" = 55-60 minutes.
    9. Cool 5 minutes.
    10. Loosen sides of loaf from pan and remove; cool completely before slicing.

    Final Comments

We love to spread slices with cream cheese.....it's so good this way!
