    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup chopped carrots
    • 1 cup chopped/sliced mushrooms
    • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped celery
    • 1/2 cup chopped onion
    • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
    • 2 cans (14 oz each) chicken broth
    • 1 can (12oz) evaporated milk
    • 1 1/2 cups cooked wild rice
    • 1 cup diced cooked chicken
    • 1/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted
    • butter or margarine


    Instructions


    1. Chop veggies.
    2. Melt butter in 3 qt saucepan over medium heat. Add veggies, cook and stir 3-4 minutes or until crisp-tender.
    3. Stir in flour. Gradually add broth and milk, whisking until blended.
    4. Bring to boil. Stir in cooked rice and chicken. Reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.
    5. Add toasted almonds right before serving.
