Recipe Introduction
No, that's not really the name of it, but I can't find my recipe so I'm going to have to wing it on this one ...
List of Ingredients
1 Chocolate Cake Mix and whatever ingredients it requires
1 Instant Pudding Mix, a white flavor, like Vanilla or White Chocolate
Red and Yellow Food Coloring
Topping:
1 Instant Pudding Mix, chocolate flavor
1 envelope Dream Whip
1-1/2 cups cold Milk
1 tsp. Orange flavoring
Recipe
Bake cake according to pkg. directions in a 13"x9"x2' baking dish. When cake comes out of oven, cool 10 minutes then poke holes in the top of cake, about 1 inch apart, using the end of a chopstick or wooden spoon.
Mix up the white pudding mix according to pkg. directions, but tint it with enough red and yellow food coloring to color it orange. When pudding is just starting to set up good, pour it slowly over the top of the cake so it runs down into the holes. Place cake in the refrigerator while you make the topping.
Blend Dream Whip, instant chocolate pudding mix, cold milk and orange flavoring in a chilled bowl and beat until stiff (3 to 6 minutes). Immediately frost cake with topping mixture and keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
You'll end up with a chocolate cake that has orange stripes and a topping reminiscent of a Tootsie Roll.
You can also do this with a white cake mix and a white pudding or orange-tinted pudding topping -- whatever you prefer.
