Recipe Introduction


I make ABSOLUTELY NO PROMISES on this one! LOL!!! I have never tried it, but if someone does, maybe you can tell us if it is worth making. I got this off a cooking/recipe radio program in Jan. 1984 when we were on assignment in NC. It did not appeal to me (but obviously I kept it - that's only because I wrote it in a spiral ring notebook which has other great recipes in it)!


List of Ingredients




2 cups brown sugar
2 cups hot water
2 Tbsp. Crisco
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. raisins (don't know the amount, probably a box)
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves

Boil the above for 5 minutes. When cool, add:

3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in hot water

Bake at 325 for 45 minutes.
