Recipe Introduction


In my family we called this whipped cream frosting; it is definitely less sweet than buttercreams:


List of Ingredients




all ingredients MUST be room temp

1/2 c butter (1 stick)
1/2 c Crisco
1 c granulated sugar
pinch salt
3 Tbsp flour
2/3 c milk
1 tsp vanilla

Recipe



Beat the first three ingredients until very light and fluffy. Add flour, 1 Tbsp at a time and blend well. Add vanilla and slowly add milk, continuing to beat until very very white and fluffy.
At one point this may look curdled but it comes together. It's ready when you rub a bit between two fingers and can feel no sugar crystals or taste a bit and feel no sugar crystals.

This will frost a layer cake with some to spare.
