    TOFU REPLACEMENT FOR CHICKEN OR BEEF

    Recipe Introduction


    This was suggested to me by azlinda at Recipe Goldmine, when I was wanting to try another recipe with Chicken. She said she personally has used it successfully. I haven't done it this way yet (it was a rather recent post), but HAVE sliced it and baked it plain, or brushed with a barbecue-type sauce. It's pretty good, though I'm sure it doesn't REALLY taste like chicken!!

    List of Ingredients




    1/3 C. vegetable oil
    2 T. soy sauce
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    16 oz. firm tofu, diced 1/4-inch

    Recipe



    In a baking pan, whisk together the oil, soy sauce and garlic powder. Add tofu. Bake at 350ºF for 30 minutes, turning the tofu once. Immediately drain on paper towels. Clear oil will remain, with the flavors having been absorbed.
