    Recipe Introduction

    A huge family favorite!

    List of Ingredients

    (serves 8-10 people)
9x12 pan (I use a large foil pan)

    *Assemble the night before

    Ingredients:
12 oz sharp cheddar cheese - grated
1# bacon - cooked and crumbled (hint: slice thru the raw bacon before frying)
16 slices white bread (butter top sandwich bread works well)- crusts removed
8 extra large eggs - beaten
    3 C milk (any type)
    1/2 t dry mustard
1/2+ C margarine or butter (not light)
2 C potato chips - crushed - set aside 'til ready to bake

    Recipe

    Assemble the night before!

    1) Grease pan with a light coat of margarine or oil spray
2)Trim the crusts off the bread slices. Butter on one side of bread
3)Place buttered slices of bread (**butter side up) on the bottom of the baking dish
    4) Sprinkle with all the bacon and cheese
    5) Top with layer of buttered bread slices, butter side up
6)Beat eggs, milk and mustard together
7)Pour over bread, gently press slices into the egg mixture to coat. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

    Preheat oven to 350°

One hour before baking, remove from fridge and bring to room temperature. (cuts down on the baking time)

Bake COVERED for 40 minutes. After 40 mins. remove foil.
Continue baking for approx. 10-15 minutes until center is done and top is lightly browned.
Top with crumbled potato chips, bake for an additional 5 minutes.
Let stand for 5-10 minutes before slicing into squares.

    Serve with fresh fruits.
