A "Dummy Proof" pie crust
List of Ingredients
- 4 C sifted flour
- 1 T sugar
- 1 t salt
- 1 3/4 C Crisco (butter flavor sticks)
- 1 T vinegar
- 1 egg, large
- 1/2 C water
- *Makes 4 single pie crusts
Instructions
- Mix together flour, sugar and salt.
- Cut in shortening until crumbly.
- Beat together: vinegar, egg and water
- Add to flour mixture and mix until well blended
- Divide into 4 portions
- Shape into flat round cakes, ready for rolling.
- Wrap and chill for at least 1/2 hour. Roll into desired thickness.
- *Freeze for future use if you wish.
