Slow Cooked Pulled Pork

List of Ingredients
- Large (4-5 qt) Crock Pot
- 4# boneless pork shoulder, fat removed (*have butcher trim, remove bone and tie)
- 1/4 C water
- 1 medium onion, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 C apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 C ketchup
- 1/4 C light (mild) molasses
- 2 T sweet paprika
- 2 T spicy brown mustard
- 2 T Worchestershire sauce
- 1 t ground red/cayene pepper
- 1 t finely ground black pepper
- 1 t salt
- 1/2 t liquid smoke flavoring
- For serving: 16 soft buns & creamy cole slaw
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a medium mixing bowl (except pork)
- Place pork shoulder in crock pot. Pour sauce over pork and coat.
- Cover and cook with lid on for approx 8-10 hours (can be done overnight). Cook until very tender and falling apart.
- Remove pork from from crock and cool. When cooled, pull apart with fingers or forks. Put back in crock, keep warm until ready to serve
- *For a thicker sauce, add 1/2 C ketchup and 1/2C your favorite BBQ sauce.
- Serve on soft buns and smother with creamy cole slaw.
