    Yield: about 8 dozen

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 cup margarine -- softened
    1 cup pecan halves

    Topping:
    2/3 cup margarine
    1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

    In a mixing bowl, beat flour, sugar, and margarine on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes. Press firmly into an ungreased 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking pan. Arrange pecans over crust.

    Combine margarine and brown sugar in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil; boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour over the pecans.

    Bake at 350º for 18 to 22 minutes or until bubbly. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top; let stand for 3 minutes. Spread chocolate but allow some chips to remain whole.

    Cool completely; cut into small squares
