    Yield: about 3-1/2 dozen cookies

    1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
    1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    3/4 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup butter or margarine
    1/2 cup peanut butter
    1 egg

    Heat oven to 375 degrees F. In small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; let cool. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In large bowl, combine remaining ingredients; mix well.

    Add melted chocolate and stir just enough to marble. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar.

    Bake at 375 degrees F. for 8 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown. Let cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheets.
