    Plan ahead… dough needs to chill until firm

    Yield: 44 cookies

    1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
    1/3 c. canola oil
    3 egg whites
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. packed brown sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    2-2/3 c. flour
    1/2 c. baking cocoa
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 c. miniature semisweet chocolate chips

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the first 3 ingredients. Beat in sugars and vanilla. Combine the next 3 ingredients; gradually add to applesauce mixture. Cover and refrigerate until firm.

    Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2-in. apart onto baking sheets coated with nonstick cooking spray. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake at 350-F for 8-10 minutes or until set.

    One cookie equals: 78 calories…2 gm fat (trace saturated)…trace cholesterol…63 mg sodium…14 gm carbohydrate…1 gm fiber…1 gm protein ++++ Exchanges: 1 starch ++++ WWP: 2
