    Morning Cookies

    Source of Recipe

    Somewhere...not sure.

    Recipe Introduction

These cookies are great! It's a breakfast food that I even let my kids have in the morning. I've alternated a bit because I didn't have some of the stuff.

Make at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1/4 cup butter
    • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
    • 3/4 whole wheat flour
    • 3/4 applesauce
    • 1/2 cup rolled oats
    • 1/3 cup wheat bran
    • 1/4 cup malted milk powder
    • 1 egg white
    • 1/2 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 18 tsp ground cloves
    • 1/2 cup raisins
    • 1/4 cup chopped nuts
    • peanut butter

    Instructions

    1. Beat butter and brown sugar until well combined.
    2. Add flour, applesauce, oats, bran, malt powder, egg white, soda, cinnamon, baking powder, salt and cloves.
    3. Beat on low speed just until combined. Stir in raisins and nuts.
    4. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray coating. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough, 2 - 3 inches apart. Spread dough so each cookie is about 2 inches across.
    5. Spread bottoms of half the cooled cookies with 1 T peanut butter: top with remaining unfrosted cookie. Chill till serving or wrap and freeze. If frozen, let thaw in refrig over night.
    6. Makes 8 sandwiches.

    Final Comments

The whole family loves these and I can't keep up with them. :)
