    Peanut Butter Sauce "La Sauced'Arachide"

    Recipe Introduction


    I learned to make Peanut Sauce from my language helper while I lived in Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 pound ground meat
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 2 - 3 tablespoons tomato paste
    • 2 cups water
    • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
    • 3/4 teaspoon salt
    • small bouillon cube
    • some chili powder


    Instructions


    1. In medium pot, brown ground meat.
    2. Add onion, tomato paste and 2 cups water. Cover and bring to boil and boil 5 minutes.
    3. Stir in peanut butter and let boil 5 mintues more.
    4. Add salt, bouillon cube and chili powder to taste. Stir well then boil 5 minutes without stirring.
    5. Serve over rice.


    Final Comments


    This also makes a great dip for french fries.
