    Sesame Beef

    List of Ingredients

    2 Tablespoons soy sauce
    2 Tablespoons dry sherry
    1 Tablespoon sugar
    2 teaspoons rice vinegar
    1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
    4 teaspoons canola oil, divided
    3/4 lb. boneless New York strip steak, thinly sliced
    2 red bell peppers, ribs and seeds removed, thinly sliced
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted

    Recipe

    In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, sherry, sugar,vinegar, and cornstarch. In a large saute pan, heat 3 teaspoons canola oil over medium-high heat. Cook steak in 2 batches until browned on both sides. Transfer to a plate. Add 1 teaspoon canola oil and the bell peppers to the pan and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Whisk soy sauce mixture and add to pan along with steak. Cook, stirring until sauce thickens, about 1 minute. Stir in sesame seeds.

    Serve with prepared rice. Garnish with scallions if desired.
