    Meatballs: Chestnut Meatballs with Sweet and Sour Sauce

    Meatballs:
    2 cups soft bread crumbs
    1 tbsp. soy sauce
    1/4 tsp. onion salt
    1/2 lb. pork sausage
    1/2 cup milk
    1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
    1/2 lb ground beef
    1 (5-oz.) can water chestnuts, chopped fine


    Combine ingredients and mix well. Form into 1 inch balls. Bake on cookie sheet for 10 to 12 minutes at 350. Put in chafing dish with sweet and sour sauce to serve. Makes about 7 dozen.


    Sweet and Sour Sauce:
    1/3 cup brown sugar
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1/2 cup crushed pineapple
    1/4 cup water
    salt to taste
    pepper to taste
    1 tbsp. cornstarch
    1/3 cup vinegar
    1/4 cup ketchup
    1 tbsp. soy sauce


    Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened.
