Recipe Introduction


I made this in home ec in the '60s and took it home to make for the family. It has been in the family ever since. Try it.



List of Ingredients





8 slices firm white bread -- buttered on one side
Large can baked beans
Sliced fresh tomatoes or drained canned tomatoes
16 slices bacon
Cheese Sauce
Make a thick white sauce (2 cups) and add 1 lb. American cheese to melt.



Recipe



Place bread slices butter side up on baking sheet under broiler. Bake until toasted. Turn bread over and top with baked beans, then tomato slices, then bacon.
Broil until bacon is cooked to your taste (I partially pre cook in skillet as I like it very well done)

Remove from broiler, put 2 slices on each plate and cover with cheese sauce.
