    Biscuits: Strawberry Pecan Biscuits

    1/2 cup shortening
    2 cups self-rising flour
    2/3 cup milk
    2/3 cup sliced strawberries
    1/2 cup pecan halves

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 425°F. Spray a baking sheet with non-stick vegetable spray.
    In a large mixing bowl, cut shortening into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk, strawberries, and pecans, stirring until dough forms. On a lightly floured board; knead gently for about 30 seconds. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter. Place on prepared baking sheet.
    Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
