Recipe Introduction
used in the center of brownies.
List of Ingredients
3/4 cup Raspberry Preserves
1 Tablespoon Cherry Extract
1 Tablespoon Rum Extract Recipe
stirred together.
It's like assembling a layer cake, but done BEFORE baking.
In the Candy bar Brownies, start by putting 1/2 of your batter in a sprayed, foil lined pan. Put the chocolate bars on the batter. Spread the Raspberry-Cherry Filling on the chocolate bars and spread the remaining batter on top of the filling. Then bake as you usually would.
I would let it cool completely, and even freeze it a short time before trying to remove the brownies from the pan. That big mass of melted chocolate in the center weakens the brownies and they may fall apart. When it's cooled or partially frozen, it will be stronger and won't fall apart.
don't drain the cherries. The juice goes in, too. Just make sure you have no stems. I just microwave the raspberries for 30 seconds to get them out of the box, then toss everything in the blender. The brick of frozen raspberries will breakup and liquify in the blender. If you prefer, you can use a food processor but the blender will puree them better. I store the sauce in the fridge in a well washed airtight mayo jar. I shake it just before I use it.
