    Charlotte Moret, St. Louis County these cookies were passed on from a friend in California to Charlotte...she substituted dried Monterey Cherries for the dried cranberries in the original recipe...they are delicate and should be baked one sheet at a time and removed carefully 1 cup butter
    1 1/2 cups sugar. Beat creamy..
    add 1 egg

    in a second bowl mix 1 1/2 cups flour and
    2 tsp baking soda
    pinch of salt
    beat in creamy mixture until well blended..

    stir in 1 1/2 cups uncooked quick oats
    1 cup white baking chips
    1 1/2 cups dried cherries..
    drop by heaping Tablespoon 2" apart on greased baking sheet to allow for spreading...only work with one tray at a time..

    bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown..
    cool on sheets 1 or 2 minutes, then remove using a wide ,thin blade spatula, to cooling rack. Cookies are fragile at this point...
    cool completely...store with waxed paper between layers in an airtight cookie tin..
