the headline in the food section of Monday's St. Louis Post Dispatch. The first Monday of December is always the unveiling of the winning cookie recipes. The ones that have "made the cut" of hundreds submitted for consideration.. adapted, easy for children, prepare 2 cookie sheets with waxed paper BEFORE mixing.. 3 Tab unsalted butter, melted in saucepan on medium heat, stir in
3 1/4 cups mini marshmallows, stir until melted[ about 2 to 3 minutes.].
remove from heat and add 1 tsp vanilla. Stir and cool about 5 minutes..
mix in a large bowl..
1 1/2 cups broken-up pretzels sticks
3/4 cup chopped cocktail peanuts
1/2 cup raisins ..
add the marshmallow mixture..
stir in 1 cup mini marshmallows and
1 6 oz package semi sweet chocolate chips[1 cup]
stir until all are coated..
spray clean hands with Pam cooking spray...using 1 heaping tablespoon at a time ,shape clusters with fingers..
drop onto wax paper lining cookie sheets and shape into haystacks. Refrigerate until firm, 20 minutes...store in covered container , chilled. Make 3 dozen clusters..
