    This weeks Pasta House Blue Ribbon Cook is Johanna Grimoldi, who thinks this recipe is fantastic for patio parties or as a refreshing dessert 2 medium cantaloupe...cut a thin slice
    on one end of each cantaloupe, so it stands upright...
    slice other end until seeds are exposed...scoop out the seeds. Stand upright in the freezer 3 hrs until cavity is slightly icy...

    in a small bowl, beat ..
    8 oz cream cheese until smooth...
    add 2 Tab syrup from..
    15 oz can pitted dark sweet cherries
    ..drain the cherries..

    beat cream cheese and syrup until fluffy...stir in cherries and
    1/4 cup toasted slivered almonds..

    fill each cavity with mixture...
    freeze about 3 hours until filling is hardened..
    just before serving, cut each cantaloupe crosswise in 4 slices. Serves 8
