    Fresh apples, in custard....with crumbly topping. A comfort food, for sure! Sour cream is called for, but using a can of Carnation will make it just as good

    List of Ingredients




    One empty 9" piecrust, unbaked .
    Topping: 1/3 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/3 cup flour, and 1/4 cup butter or margarine.
    Filling: 2 cups chopped apple
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 tablespoons flour
    1 cup sour cream
    1 egg
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    1/8 teaspoon salt

    Recipe



    Topping: combine all ingredients with pastry blender or fingers. Filling: Combine sugar and flour. Add cream, egg, vanilla, and salt. Beat until smooth.Add apples. Mix thoroughly. Pour into pastry-lined pie pan. Bake 450 degrees 15 minutes. Reduce to 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle topping over pie. Return to oven for 20 minutes, at 325 degrees
