    Elsah's Landing Restaurant Praline Custard Pie

    Recipe Introduction

    Grafton, Illinois preheat oven to 450 degrees

    have ready 1 9" baked pie shell

    heat 1/3 cup butter
    1/3 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup chopped pecans in a small saucepan until melted..
    spread in bottom of pie shell.
    bake for 5 minutes and cool..

    combine 1 cup sugar and
    3 Tab cornstarch in medium saucepan...stir in
    3 egg yolks, lightly beaten
    1/8 tsp salt,
    2 cups whole milk. Mix well. Cook over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly...

    add 1 Tab butter and 1 tsp vanilla...
    stir only until butter is melted..

    measure out 1 cup filling..
    pour remaining filling in the pie shell.
    fold in 1 1/2 cups whipped heavy cream into reserved filling and spread on top of pie...chill a few hours

    garnish with dollops of whipped cream and pieces of toasted pecans. Keep chilled

    please use real butter, real whipping cream and whole milk in this recipe. If you are counting calories, eat a smaller slice!!!....
