As baked by his wife in the family quarters of the Missouri Governors Mansion in Jefferson City...this recipe was given by Ceva LaRue, a maid at the mansion who also assisted in the kitchen on cook's day off...it quickly became one of the Governor's favorites.
List of Ingredients
1 1/2 cups sugar 1 tsp vanilla
4 Tab Flour dash of nutmeg
4 beaten eggs 2 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup melted butter pinch of salt
1 unbaked pie shell
Recipe
Blend all and pour into pie shell.. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes, then reduce to 375 for 30 minutes, until set...
