    via Suzanne CorbettSt. Louis . MOSuzanne Corbett is a St. Louis native, award winning food writer, cookbook author, columnist, and gifted culinary teacher. As an historian, whose specialty is cuisine, she is highly respected , not only in her hometown, but nationwide. She shares this "receipt" , given to her by Miss Lillian, one of her first students. "This stuff makes almost any fruit salad taste better"..promised Miss L. and it also works well with chicken salad.. 3/4 cup Mayonnaise[NOT Miracle Whip]
    2 Tab dark rum
    2 Tab raspberry preserves

    Mix in a small bowl and set aside:
    1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

    Beat until it holds stiff peaks. Gently fold in whipped cream and1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts into the mayonnaise mixture. Serve as a topping for fruit salad or as a base for chicken salad. Makes 1 1/2 cups. You must use this within 4 hours, after that it breaks down and separates...
