    Smoky Corn and Potato Chowder

    This recipe is a basic one I did the following:
    I used 2 cans of cream corn, instead of 1 because I like my chowder thick. I also used ham and increased the amount slightly. I stirred in Colby, because that's what I had on hand. Let me tell you, my husband, who isn't a soup eater, absolutely loved it.

    List of Ingredients




    1-1/2 cup milk
    1 can (14 3/4oz) cream style corn
    6 oz cubed ham or smoked sausage, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced
    1 can (14 3/4oz) whole new potatooes, drained and coarsley chopped
    1 can (15 1/4oz) whole kernel corn
    1 cup shredded smoked cheddar, Swiss or gouda cheese
    green onion slivers

    Recipe



    Stir milk into cream corn in large saucepan. Add ham or sausage, potatoes and whole kernel corn. Heat through, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese until melted. Garnish with onions, if desired.
