served along with the famous hamburgers at this local saloon that started out in the famed Gaslight Square area in the 60's in the City of St.Louis..
Jack Parker took it over in '65 and by 1972, the decline of the area led him to relocating just over the edge from the Italian Hill district..on Shaw Ave.
the pub is known for its selection of drinks and are debutting their own private label of ale..
generations of loyal customers of all ages love the menu: burgers, chili, soups and sandwiches..
this colorful and crisp slaw uses three colors of bell peppers and keeps up to a week in the refigerator..
combine in a large glass bowl..
1 Tab olive oil
1/3 plus 1 tab white vinegar
3/4 cup plus 2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
whisk together...
add 1 head of cabbage
about 3 lbs.,shredded
3/4 cup finely diced bell pepper
1/2 cup finely diced onion
cover and chill at least an hour before serving..
keeps well.
