Before Prohibition, the Lemp Brewer in South St. Louis was one of the largest in the World...in 1862, the Lemp family built a beautiful stone mansion that is now restaurant, bed and breakfast, events, catering, and home to the Lavender Lady...presumably the ghost of a former resident ...located just a few blocks south of the world headquarters of Anheuser Busch, brewers of Budweiser, the home is decorated in Victorian splendor and available for rental of weddings, etc...
in a large bowl mix..
2 cups sour cream,
1/4 cup lemon juice
4 tsp Worcestershire
2 teaspoon celery salt
2 tsp paprika
4 cloves garlic, chopped fine
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
add 6 whole boned chicken breasts, coating each piece well, cover tightly and chill overnight...
to bake. Remove breasts and coat with 2 cups seasoned bread crumbs....
arrange in a single layer in a large shallow baking pan...
melt 1/2 cup butter and
1/2 cup shortening in a bowl and
stir in juice of 1/2 lemon..
spoon half this mixture over chicken and bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Spoon rest of butter mixture on chicken and bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until tender..
