Recipe Introduction
St. Louis,Missouri
The Victorian Club on Washington Ave was in an old brick multi-storied house, just west of Downtown St. Louis. It's heyday was the early 60's and operated on a quasi private club basis. This was the place to take a date if you wanted to impress her. Very elegant and yet not stuffy. The front hall served as a reception area, the small bar was in the front parlor and then a large dining room. The kitchen facilities were in the basement. Upstairs were several private dining rooms, available for intimate gatherings, small parties, etc. The menu was not extensive but food was good and beautifully served..
