The best remedy for skunk is 1-quart hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking
soda, and 1 teaspoon Dawn dishwashing soap. Wet the dog, soak him down with
this mixture, and let it sit for 10 to 20 minutes before rinsing. Recipe
can be doubled or tripled depending on the size of the dog. Please note -
this mixture must be prepared in an open container and cannot be prepared
ahead of time because the hydrogen peroxide and baking soda combination will
explode in a closed container. I mix it in a bucket and pour it on.
