Mushroom Stew

Cube pork (or if using Italian sausage, remove sausage from casings) and brown in a little oil
Add onion while meat is browning
add salt, pepper, oregano, garlic powder, paprika, 1 t fennel (if using pork) and a little hot pepper if desired.
Brown all of above
Then add one can tomato puree and 1/2 can water.
Come to boil and simmer
While simmering, cut mushrooms in strips and add to meat
Simmer about 1/2 hour
Add more water if too thick
