    Hamburger Vegetable Lentil Soup

    List of Ingredients




    1 lb hamburger
    5¾ c tomato juice
    4 c water
    1 c cup lentils, washed
    1 c diced carrots
    1 c diced cabbage
    1 c chopped celery
    ½ c chopped onion
    1 ts salt
    ½ ts pepper
    1 green pepper (or green pepper flakes)
    1 bay leaf

    DIRECTIONS:

    1 Brown hamburger until crumbly. Drain. Bring tomato juice and water to a boil. Add the rest of the ingredients. Bring back to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Freezes well.
