    Treacle Ginger Loaf

    List of Ingredients

    90g butter, chopped
    125ml milk
    125ml treacle
    1 egg
    110g caster sugar
    3tsp ground ginger
    150g self raising flour
    150g plain flour

    Recipe

    Grease a 15x25cm loaf pan and cover with greaseproof paper.
    Put butter, milk and treacle into a medium saucepan and stir over heat without boiling until butter is melted.
    Stand for 10 mind.
    Stir in egg, sugar, ginger and flours.
    Put into loaf tin and bake in a moderate slow oven (165c) for about 1 hour.
    Stand for few mins and then turn onto wire rack.
    Top with treacle cream cheese frosting.
