Sausage and Apple Toad in the Hole

350g (12 oz) Somerfield Pork Sausage meat
1 Cox's apple, grated
BATTER:
125g (4 1/2 oz) Somerfield Plain Flour
2 Somerfield Eggs
600ml (1 pint) Somerfield Fresh Whole Milk
60ml (2 tbsp) Somerfield Vegetable Oil
Recipe
Pre-heat oven to 220°C (425°F) Gas Mark 7.
Place the sausage meat and apple in a bowl and mix together. Form into 12 balls.
Make the batter by sifting the flour into a large bowl. Add the eggs, then mix. Gradually add the milk, whisking the mixture until smooth.
Add 1/2 tbsp oil to four individual ovenproof dishes. Place three sausage balls in each dish and cook in the oven for 10 minutes. Alternatively, place the sausage balls in one large dish and cook as above.
Remove the sausage balls from the oven and pour the batter over them. Cook for a further 30 minutes, until the batter is risen and golden. Serve with a green vegetable such as French beans.
