Our Simple and Easy Turkey Gravy
Source of Recipe
Kathy's adapted from various recipes
List of Ingredients
2 (1.2 oz.) packages turkey gravy mix
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups chicken broth
2 cups turkey pan drippings, (This stuff is like liquid gold!)
3 dashes Tabasco sauce, (shhhh...)
salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp. butterRecipe
Place turkey gravy mix and flour into a saucepan.
Gradually whisk in broth, then turkey drippings and Tabasco until the mixture is smooth.
Bring to a boil, stirring continuously, reduce heat to low, and simmer the gravy until thickened, about 10 minutes.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
For the final step…stir in 1 tbsp. butter. * Yes, it seems over the top to be sure but it adds a silkiness and richness to the gravy that is phenomenal!
Serving a crowd?:
Can easily double or triple batches depending on the crowd.
Once complete I put into a crockpot to stay perfect
Quick Fixes if necessary:
Not enough turkey drippings - make it up with chicken broth
Too thick – Use only 2-3 tbsp. flour or add more broth
Too thin – Mix 1 tbsp. butter with 1 tbsp. flour and whisk in Lumps – use a strainer.
