Country Style Apple Pie
Recipe Introduction
Crust:
1 (15-oz.) pkg. Pillsbury Refrigerated Pie Crust
Filling:
1/2 cup sugar
4 tsps. cornstarch
2 tsps. cinnamon
4 cups peeled, thinly sliced apples
1 tsp. sugar
2 tbls. chopped pecans
1. Heat oven to 450 degrees.
In medium bowl combine:
1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon; mix well.
Add apples and toss gently.
2. Place pie crust on large cookie sheet. Spoon apple mixture on center of crust to within 2 inches from edge. Fold unfilled sides of crust over apple mixture. Crimp slightly about every 11/2 to 2 inches.
3. Brush crust edges with water and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon sugar. Bake at 450 F for 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
4. Sprinkle pecans over apple mixture. Bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until apples are tender.
Serves 6.
