Pizza w/ Pizza Hut Sauce
The sauce is a Pizza Hut copy.
Pizza Dough-Cornmeal
· 2 ½ c Flour
· ½ c Cornmeal
· 1 pkg. Rapid Rise Yeast
· ¾ tsp Salt
· 1 c warm Water (120' to 130')
· 2 TBL + Olive Oil
1. In large bowl, combine 1 ½ cups flour, cornmeal, undissolved
yeast, and salt. Stir warm water and olive oil into dry ingredients.
Stir in enough remaining flour to make soft dough. Knead on lightly
floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. Cover with
clean towel; let rest on floured surface 10 minutes.
2. Lightly oil pizza pan with olive oil (I use a pastry brush to
spread the olive oil.) Gently spread dough to fit pan using palms of
hands. (May use a rolling pin but I find using clean hands is faster
with less clean-up.) Preheat oven to 400'.
3. Top pizza as desired. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until done.
Pizza Sauce
(Pizza Hut Copy)
· 15 oz Tomato Sauce
· ¼ tsp dried Oregano
· ¼ tsp dried Sweet Basil
· ¼ tsp dried thyme
· ¼ tsp Garlic Powder
· ¼ tsp Salt
· 1/8 tsp ground Black Pepper
· dash of Onion Powder
· ½ tsp Lemon Juice
1. Combine all ingredients in medium saucepan over medium low heat.
Simmer until desired consistency (about 15 minutes.) Makes enough
sauce for one large pizza.
Note: This is great for breadsticks too! ½ tsp of sugar will make
this taste like a whole new recipe and is delicious!
