    Candied Baked Beans

    Source of Recipe

    Vernalissa

    List of Ingredients

4 16-ounce cans pork and beans (not baked)...Campbells is fine
    1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup regular molasses (dark can be used, but it is a very strong flavor)
6 to 8 strips raw bacon to cover top

    Recipe

Pour beans, brown sugar and molasses into a large bowl and stir to blend. Pour into a 13 x 9 pan or baking dish. Cover the top evenly with raw bacon strips. Bake, uncovered, at 300* for about 2 hours.

Do not stir at all. The beans should be rich, thickend, and bacon should be dark. Do not bake too long or they will be dry; you want them to be just a bit "liquidy"...they'll thicken up more after they come out of the oven.
