Boston Brown Bread*
List of Ingredients
2 1/2 C Whole Wheat Flour
2 t Soda
1 t Salt
1/2 C Dark Molasses
2 C Buttermilk*
1 C Raisins
1/2 C Chopped Nuts
Recipe
Combine Flour, Salt, and Soda.
Combine Molasses and Buttermilk and add to Flour mixture.
Stir in Raisins and Nuts. Turn into greased or sprayed loaf pan.
Bake @ 350* 40 - 50 minutes.
Yield: 1 Iron Rich Loaf.
* You can successfully substitute soured milk for Buttermilk by putting 2T White Vinegar in a measuring cup, then adding Milk to make 1 Cup.
