Cheese & Wine Bread
List of Ingredients
1 C + 2 T all-purpose-flour
1/2 t baking powder
1/4 t cream of tartar
1/2 t salt
1/8 t baking soda
1/4 C instant nonfat dry milk
1/3 C vegetable shortening
1 T sugar
1 T minced onion
1 egg, beaten
1/4 C milk
1/4 cup White wine
1/2 t dried oregano
1/4 C Parmesan cheese, grated
Recipe
1. Preheat oven to 425 F. Grease a 9 inch round pan.
2. Sift together flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, salt, baking soda and dry milk. Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Add sugar, minced onion, egg, milk, wine and oregano. Mix thoroughly.
3. Spread mixture in a greased 9-inch round pan and sprinkle with cheese.
4. Bake at 425 F for 15-20 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
