    Golden Cake Bread

    List of Ingredients





    1 package dry yeast
    1/4 Cup luke warm water

    1/2 Cup sugar
    1 stick butter
    1 Cup hot milk

    2 beaten eggs
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    1 teaspoon salt

    4 1/2 Cups flour

    1 beaten egg

    Recipe





    Combine and set aside to allow yeast to dissolve:
    1 package dry yeast
    1/4 Cup luke warm water

    Combine (in a separate bowl):
    1/2 Cup sugar
    1 stick butter
    1 Cup hot milk

    Allow butter to melt and mixture to cool.

    Add:
    2 beaten eggs
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    1 teaspoon salt

    Add yeast and water mixture. Add:
    4 1/2 Cups flour.

    Dough will be very sticky (more the consistency of homemade dinner
    roll dough than most bread dough). Let rise one hour. Beat down
    (press down with hands or spoon) and let rise again for 45 minutes.
    Divide into two portions and place in loaf pans.

    Next:
    1 beaten egg

    Brush tops with beaten egg (you won't need all of it) with a pastry
    brush. Let rise in loaf pans another 45 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees
    for 20 to 25 minutes. Wonderful dinner bread. Leftover bread makes
    great cinnamon toast for breakfast the next morning.
