    Root Beer Bread

    List of Ingredients

    1 qt root beer
    1/2 cup lard or shortening
    2 packages of yeast, dissolved in 1/2cup warm water
    1 tablespoon of salt
    2/3 cup molasses
    3 cups rye flour or whole wheat flower
    7 cups white flour


    Recipe

    Heat root beer and shortening. Add salt and
    molasses. Cool. Add Yeast. Stir in flour. Knead
    and let rise twice.
    Bake @ 350 to 375 degrees, 30-40 minutes.
    Yield 2 Loaves.
    I've not made this, nor am I a huge root beer fan, but thought it to be an interesting and unusual recipe.
